Only For Those Who Love Good Greek Food
Grilled Octopus, Dolmades and Tzatziki

My friend Eva and I LOVE living in Delray Beach.

We meet for dinner almost every week and have a plan to try every restaurant in Delray Beach.

On the night in December of the 100-foot Christmas tree lighting, we dined at Taverna Eros, on Atlantic Avenue across from Old School Square.

You can be seated inside or outside, and of course, we chose outside where the air was festive, the people smiling, the crowds passing.

This night, as we often do, we chose to have "small plates" - appetizers - so we could sample various palate pleasers. We ordered grilled octopus, Tzatziki (cucumber, garlic and thick tangy yogurt dip served with pita), Dolmades (5 stuffed grape leaves with rice and a lemon dressing) and a Greek Salad.

Each dish was an absolute delight. I especially enjoyed the grilled octopus. I have had calamari (squid) but this was thicker, tastier and cooked to just the right amount of tenderness.

The service was good and the tables were full. I have eaten there once before, having had the sliced lamb filet - tender, cooked medium rare as I requested, served with garlic mashed potatoes (which I usually never eat but they were delicious).

I highly recommend this Greek restaurant in Delray to all who like Greek food (and to those who need to find out what they are missing).

Comment by Danika Dahl: Jody - What an excellent write-up on Taverna Eros! Very, very nice!

I went there for the grand opening of their outdoor patio which they share with Tryst Restaurant. The courtyard is beautiful with a huge banyan tree in the middle of it. I took some pictures and I included a photo of their patio in your write-up so others can see it.
