This year, 2010, marks the 42nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

Old School Square (Swinton and Atlantic Avenue) is offering pre- and post-parade party with food, drinks and live Irish music.

Get tickets here for your St. Patty's Day Box Party above the Bull Bar. This is a VIP Spectator's Box above the Bull Bar located at Swinton and Atlantic Avenue. The "all-you-can-drink" VIP tickets go for $20 with all the money going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of the Palm Beaches.

After-parade party at Tim Finnegan's for the Mother-of-All-Irish-After-Parties!

Square One Members get FREE GREEN BEER with their Square One membership card, compliments of Tom and Lisa, owner of Tim Finnegan's! How's that for the luck of the Irish?!?

The Firefightin Irish
by: John Fischer

I've been going to the Delray Beach St. Patrick's Parade for over 20 years now, and always love it!

Historically there have been what I would describe as "Bald Spots" in it, where there were little to no spectators at all on the sidelines.

This years (2010) 42nd annual parade, there were no bald spots. It had a record-breaking crowd, with many of them children brought by their parents.

This in large part due to the Firefighters throwing their helmet into the ring and becoming a larger part of the parade experience. Thus instilling and preserving an American tradition that many Floridians who grew up in the North East and Mid West enjoyed seeing as children (Their fire departments in their hometown parades).

And they're here to stay thanks to Bern Ryan and Nancy Stewart of Festival Management Group.

For more information on next years 43rd Annual Parade, please frequently check out festival managements website and the professional firefighters of Palm Beach County's website.

Comment by Danika Dahl: John, I do believe you deserve some credit to the success of the 2010 St. Patrick's Parade in Delray Beach ;) I really hope to see this tradition carry on!
