Boating: Destination Delray Beach
By McCall Credle-Rosenthal

The Elegant Yacht Lady Atlantic
Anchored in elegance, on the northwest side of the Atlantic Avenue Bridge is the Lady Atlantic yacht boat cruise. This 105-foot yacht awaits an opportunity to provide the experience of seeing Delray Beach from the Intracoastal Waterway perspective. She is a quiet, classically equipped yacht. What an ideal way to see a part of Delray Beach filled with natural landscape, yacht havens, magnificent homes and some of the history and culture of Delray Beach! The Lady Atlantic yacht is owned by Captain Joe and Kerry Reardon, who in 2003, transferred their love of Cape Cod to the beautiful Intracoastal Waterways of Delray Beach, Florida. Kerry’s sister Megan Christian is Vice-President of their venture, which provides customized cruises meeting specific requests through the collaborative efforts and skills of this family and crew. Lady Atlantic Cruising the Intracoastal Waterway

Fun-Filled Cruises on the Intracoastal

While cruising on the Lady Atlantic, you'll enjoy a state-of-the-art entertainment system, a full Tiki Bar, inviting menus and many other amenities provided by a very friendly and capable crew. Even with the global economic downturn, Lady Atlantic continues to be an easily affordable 2-hour cruise filled with historic information and sites plus the esthetically breathtaking beauty of the Intracoastal Waterway. Historical Atlantic Avenue Draw Bridge
You will meet a bit of history as you cruise past Atlantic Avenue. The first bridge in Delray was built in 1911. Prior to the bridge, early beach-goers crossed “the canal” now the Intracoastal Waterway, by lighter barge. Atlantic Avenue Draw Bridge (Photo Courtesy of Photographically Yours, Inc.)

Our Lady Atlantic is based at the present Atlantic Avenue Bridge. With Captain Joe at the helm, Lady Atlantic begins its cruise through the passageway of the Bridge Tender House constructed in 1952, later redesigned by local architect Robert Currie in 1991. Be sure to notice the pineapple at the top of the Bridge Tender House. That is the welcoming sign to Delray Beach!
Immediately after passing the Bridge Tender to Starboard (right side) is the Boyd Building, designed in Art Moderne Style by Gustave Maas in 1939. The 1940 Anchorage Building, a joint collaborative design of Gustave Maas and Sam Ogren, Sr., Delray Beach’s first registered architect next comes into view to Starboard. Soon the Marina Historic District, established in the late 1980’s and the City Marina, established in the 1920’s, also are viewed from the right side of Lady Atlantic. Then after Captain Joe has given passengers the historical tour, they will relax enjoying a cocktail, and the view of beautiful homes and boats as the Lady Atlantic continues to cruise the Intracoastal. Delray Boat Club Intracoastal and Ocean Boat Rentals and Charters
While attending Florida’s Lynn University, the passion for sea life continued for Alex Warner, owner of Delray Boat Club. This passion became a life force while Alex was growing up near the water in Oyster Bay, New York.
After graduating from Lynn, he returned to New York to work at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Finally, missing the water and Delray Beach, Alex returned to Florida where he now owns a business which provides others an affordable alternative to boat ownership. Delray Boat Club is located at the George Bush Bridge on the southwest side at the Delray Beach Marina.
Charter Fishing, Water Sports, Relaxing Cruises, Customized Boat Rides
The Boat Club offers fishing charters, water skiing, snorkeling, diving and wake boarding (an enticement for kids) all part of the Intracoastal activities that Delray Boat Club will customize. With his 23-foot and 25-foot vessels, Alex is creative and flexible for those who simply like a nature site seeing experience or even simply a relaxing cruise up to Palm Beach. Cruisers may stop and explore at sand bars and reefs or enjoy some dockside dining along the way. Any Delray Boat Club Intracoastal or ocean experience can be arranged to suit your plans and schedule. Alex Warner and his Delray Boat Club will provide family and friends with another way to see not only Delray Beach but to have many other possible adventures.
